Transcending Your Story: Connecting with the Essential Self through Quantum Science, Neuroscience & Energy Medicine

Sue Morter, DC

No CE hours

Everything is energy! Quantum science reveals that even our thoughts, feelings, and beliefs are energy, held in different patterns. From these patterns, reality is formed, impacting our perceptions, vitality, even our health.

Current times are calling us to awaken to a greater version of ourselves - to identify as the Soulful Self rather than the personality and its familiar stories about who we are and what we are capable of. By training the mind to serve the magnificent intuitive presence that we truly are, we can learn to shift from living in our heads to living as the true, Essential Self. The mind alone is not enough.

OBJECTIVES

  1. Distinguish between fear-based perceptions and wisdom-based perceptions.
  2. Dissolve attachment to the mind as our primary orientation for stress relief.
  3. Master the energy flow of your life through the energy flow in the body.

Sue Morter, DC, is an international speaker, author, teacher, and doctor with over 30 years of experience. She blends ancient wisdom traditions with cutting-edge quantum science. Her best-selling book, The Energy Codes, guides readers in practices to help build robust neurocircuitry to raise cellular vibrational frequency, leading to unprecedented levels of self-expression, health, vitality. Sue's visionary models and techniques ignite an entirely new approach to accessing creative genius and living from true creatorship and personal freedom.

Trauma Body & the Brain: Synchronicity, Rhythmicity & Play in the Healing of Trauma

Bessel A. van der Kolk, MD

1.5 CE Hours*

Level: All

Openness, attunement and embodied self-awareness are essential keys to healing from trauma. Trauma is not a story of what has happened in the past. When overwhelming experiences continue to be lived out in heartbreak and gut-wrenching sensations, trauma survivors feel unsafe, on edge, ashamed and shut down. Healing and transformation occur when survivors learn to restore an embodied sense of safety and reclaim a loving relationship with themselves.

Effective therapies start from a basic sense of calm and safety. Through neuroscience and body-centered approaches, you will learn how to help your clients restore a sense of visceral safety, befriend themselves, and fully engage with the present.

Discover how the brain is shaped by experience in this program that explores

  • What neuroscience teaches about self-awareness and trauma.
  • The nature of human attachment and how it affects us throughout life.
  • New psychotherapeutic treatments that help integrate traumatic memories.
  • Body-centered approaches for building attunement, restoring agency and dealing with trauma.

Explore the capacity of EMDR, yoga, energy psychology, sensorimotor practices, theater work and neurofeedback to help your clients overcome a traumatic past and regain the capacity to be fully alive in the present.

OBJECTIVES

  1. Discuss how traumatized people process information.
  2. Delineate how attachment and attunement are disrupted by trauma.
  3. Describe how body-centered approaches can alleviate traumatic re-experiencing.

Bessel A. van der Kolk, MD, is a pioneer clinician, researcher and teacher in the area of posttraumatic stress. His work uniquely integrates developmental, neurobiological, psychodynamic, somatic and interpersonal aspects of the impact of trauma and its treatment. He has published over 150 peer reviewed scientific articles. His #1 New York Times Science best seller, The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Treatment of Trauma transforms our understanding of traumatic stress, revealing how it literally rearranges the brain's wiring.

He is founder of the Trauma Center (now the Trauma Research Foundation) in Boston, MA; past president of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, and professor of psychiatry at Boston University Medical School. He regularly teaches at universities and hospitals around the world.

We Are One, But Not the Same

Gail Parker, PhD, E-RYT 500

1 CE Hour*

Level: All

Ethnic and race-based stress and trauma have been neglected areas of inquiry in most trauma informed therapeutic modalities. However, ignoring ethnic and race-based stress and trauma as actualities runs the risk of re-traumatizing people and interferes with their ability to derive maximum benefit from therapeutic interventions.

When therapists lack critical awareness of race and racism, and have not adequately dealt with their own racial hang-ups (which Gail Parker regards as a symptom of their own unhealed racial wounds) and when they are uncomfortable and unprepared to deal with issues of race as they come up, they become part of the problem. To be effective therapists, we must examine how living in a racialized world affects each of us.

Now is a time to reduce the harmful effects of ethnic and race-based traumatic stress so that we can be prepared to create a future that, regardless of one's skin color, facial features, hair texture, and unique cultural racial and ethnic identity, embraces the fact that while we are not the same, we are all members of the same race, the human race. What affects one of us affects us all.

OBJECTIVES

  1. Describe what Race-based Traumatic Stress Injury (RBTSI) is.
  2. Discuss how RBTSI differs from Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
  3. Delineate a self-study model for therapists treating RBTSI.

Gail Parker, PhD, C-IAYT, E-RYT 500 , is a psychologist and a certified yoga therapist. She is a nationally and internationally renowned media personality, educator, author, and thought leader.

Dr. Parker is the current president of the Black Yoga Teachers Alliance (BYTA) and the author of Restorative Yoga for Ethnic and Race-Based Stress and Trauma (2020).

She appears as a psychologist expert on local and nationally syndicated talk shows, including numerous appearances on the "Oprah Show". She was featured as a health and wellness expert on the benefits of yoga and meditation, in a nationally syndicated PBS health talk show series called "Feel Grand".

  • Discover the impact of the Earth's magnetic activity on our health and well-being.

OBJECTIVES

  1. Describe the fundamental physiology of the heart-brain communication.
  2. Discuss the psychophysiological coherence state and how it improves a wide range of cognitive functions.
  3. Delineate how to use new technologies to measure and facilitate nervous system balance and synchronization.
  4. Discuss primary resonant frequencies in the Earth's magnetic fields and how slow wave heart rhythms can synchronize with these resonant frequencies.

Rollin McCraty, PhD, , director of research at the HeartMath Institute, is a professor at Florida Atlantic University. A psychophysiologist, one of his primary areas of focus is the mechanisms by which emotions influence cognitive processes, behavior, health and the global interconnectivity between people and Earth's energetic systems. McCraty's critical research on heart rate variability and heart-rhythm coherence has gained international attention in the scientific community and is helping to change long-held perceptions about the heart's role in health, behavior, performance and quality of life.

He has appeared in television segments on most major U.S. networks, and has been featured in many documentary films. His studies, research and extensive professional articles have appeared in numerous journals, including the American Journal of Cardiology.
